Do This…And Your Life Will Flourish
Uncertainty has been a companion for as long as I can remember.
I didn’t have language for it growing up, but I felt it.
Leaving home for West Point. Stepping onto an NFL field. Getting called back into the Army. Walking away from the NFL. Starting over in Canada. Starting over again in Los Angeles.
And then again in Nashville.
Every one of those moments left me feeling the same thing...
Deep uncertainty from not knowing how things are going to turn out.
For a long time, I tried to outrun that feeling.
I thought certainty came from achieving more, performing better, or proving I was in control.
I thought if I could just get life “right,” the uncertainty would go away.
But life doesn’t work like that.
The more you try to control uncertainty, the smaller your life becomes—and the more exhausted you feel.
So, if the goal isn't to outrun uncertainty or overpower it, then what is it?
For me, the work now is staying present and connected with myself when I don’t have answers.
Not checking out. Not speeding past the discomfort.
Just being willing to be in it...for as long as it takes.
It’s here, in the tension of the unknown, that life starts shaping you for what’s next.
Because in order to get something new, we first have to become someone new.
Maybe you’re in a season right now where nothing feels settled. Where the plan you had isn’t working, and the next step isn’t clear.
It can make you question everything—your timing, your choices, even yourself.
But I hope you know this season isn't wasted.
The uncertainty you're feeling is the ground where seeds are being planted so something new can bloom.
It might not look like growth yet, but something is happening beneath the surface.
I promise you..trust the process.
I know it’s not easy, but every time I’ve walked through it, life has had a way of turning out better than I could have ever imagined.
And I know the same can be for you.
As always, I'm rooting for you. We're in this together.
